The Shrine 社殿
Cedar joinery cut without a single nail, still holding its roof against a thousand winters. The light inside has never gone out.
静寂の守護者 Guardians of Silence
忘れられた門 The Forgotten Gate
三層 Sansō — Three Layers
The shrine came first and has outlasted every empire that promised to protect it. The guardians came second. The forest, patient and unhurried, is quietly reclaiming them both.

02
Sworn to the gate long before the armour was forged. They do not age, they do not rest, and they have never once stepped inside.
03
Moss over stone, roots through steel. Given long enough it takes everything back, and it is always given long enough.
参道 Sandō — The Approach
The path was laid one gate at a time, each raised by someone asking to be remembered. Walk it slowly. The lantern at the far end has not gone out in nine hundred years.
誓い Chikai — The Vow
静かに、そして永遠に。 Quietly, and for ever.
The vow is short enough to say in one breath and long enough to take a lifetime. Those who swear it give up their names on the same day, which is why none of the four are recorded anywhere in the temple ledgers.
What remains is the work: the gate swept, the lantern filled, the path kept clear. Nothing that would be missed until it stopped.
鋼 Hagane — The Steel
The plate is older than the armour it belongs to. Each generation refits it rather than replacing it, so a guardian standing at the gate tonight wears steel that has stood there since before the forest reached the lower steps.
